Sternal Implants such as plates, wires or similar devices are used for closing and fixing the sternum after Throracotomy. In several cases the implants needs to be removed. That could be an elective surgery or even emergency surgery.
For cutting sternal plates or wire we have designed a dedicated Implant cutter. This Sternum Implant cutter with a special cutting tip design and material allows cutting of implants directly on the bone surface.
Even materials thicker than 1.7mm can be cut directly on the sternal bone surface.
